1994 Honda Accord in dash temperature gauge

what controls the temperature gauge on my dash board. As soon As I turn the car on it goes all the way up and never comes back down. I do know that the fans are fireing as they should and that I'm running a normal coolant temp. which leads me to believe it's a faulty sensor I just don't know which one.

Hi bubbaw,

Either the sending unit or temperature gauge itself is faulty. The other possibility is the sending unit wire is grounded.
