Engine Cooling problem
1994 Honda Accord 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

We are trying to figure out why the car is overheating. We recently got the car and placed an 97 engine into it, as the original was messed up. We did not replace the radiator. We have check the thermostat and it is working. Any ideas of what may cause the overheating? Also, do you think overheating will affect a smog test? Please help.

Hello,

Possible causes....

Air Bubble in Engine - You can jack up the vehicle on the side of the upper hose as high as you can safely do. This will help work the bubble to the highest point and work it out. They can be a pain to get rid of.

Bad Radiator - Run finger up or down the fins if they turn to dust or just fall apart replace radiator.
