I just got my 1993 Honda Accord Ex runs fine it starts right up but I dont drive it because theres something wrong with the reverse. When I go to put it into reverse the lights come on but it wont go into gear it just makes a grinding sound and I cant back up. Also the overdrive (D3) lights up on the board and blinks for a little while then just stays light up and when I put it in D3 the car is slow on acceleration. The previous owners wreaked the car but restored it pretty well. I just want to know whats wrong with my car and what I need for it so I can get it on the road. So whats causing my car to do this?

Hi james_08,

When the D3 light blinks, an error has been detected in the system and you need toretrieve the trouble code to understand what is wrong.

Use a jumper across the SCS and turn ignition switch ON. Count the blinking of the D3 indicator. Delayed flash = 10 while short quick blinks are 1.
A prolonged pause would pause after each code and the cycle would repeat after all trouble codes have been shown.
