Ok, I have a 1993 Honda Accord EX 2.2L L4 with approx. 150k miles on it, we have had the car for less than a year with absolutely no problems, the car was recently smogged and passed with flying colors, just prior to the smog I gave it a major tune up, plugs, wires, rotor, dist cap, checked timing, fuel filter, new battery, electrical test at all sensors, k&n air filter, oil and oil filter. All was well until last week, I pulled the battery for test in another honda and after I replaced it, it started with no problem and after 3 or 4 minutes the engine started to sputter, tach between 300 rpms and 800 rpms, idled rough, then died. On attempt to restart, would not start. Let sit 10-15 minutes, starts then repeats, now thats all I get out of it is 5 minutes at most. What could it be, a little research points to all sensors and the main relay or the ECM? Thanks!

Hi warrant2k2,

Thank you for the donation.

I would suggest checking the PGM-FI main relay first. Remove it and resolder the circuit board and retest.

When the engine fails to start, you should check if it is fuel or ignition sprks that is missing.
