My check engine light is on due to faulty TDC sensor, according to Honda. I just had another mechanic look at it; he said that the distribuor needs to be replaced. I had the ignition switch replaced last year. Does the distributor have anything to do with the ignition switch that was replaced, if so do I need to return the vehicle to that mechanic to fix the problem?

Well, obviously there is a connection as the power to the vehicle is provided by the ignition switch. The TDC sensor is located in the distributor. Don't know what code you got.

yeah and there's a connection between the ign switch and almost everything electrical in the car as it feeds the power...but what would that have to do with the dist going bad.

yes the tdc is in the dist. the ign switch replacement has nothing to do with the dist going bad. honda's are well known for dist failure...whether a bearing, sensor, igniter or internal coil. complete new units can be bought aftermarket very reasonably and they're easy to change. i gave up on reman units long ago.
