Engine Cooling problem
1992 Honda Accord 4 cyl Manual 170000 miles

I have a 1992 Honda Accord LX.

I changed my timing belt and drove the car 45 minutes and it ran great. Better than ever. The next day I drove it for 10 minutes and the car overheated.

When I start the car, the temperature gauge needle is in the middle, like normal, then when I put it in reverse or drive, the needle starts going crazy, all the way up.

If the temperature sensor is broken, will the needle move like that? or will it not move at all?

I took the thermostat out, and changed a water hose, then when I opened the screw to let the air out, no air and only a few drops of water came out. What can be going on here?

I appreciate any help.

Thank you,
Mario

Are you actually overheating or just the guage that's telling you. If you are get it block and pressure tested-

Temp Gauge

Could be a problem with the coolant temperature sensor or the engine temperature gauge sender switch and also wiring problem.
