Engine Mechanical problem
1992 Honda Accord 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

My starter went out, burned, smoke and everything, and do not have the bucks to replace, just spent the little I had to get it to pass smog here in San Diego California. Please, I need your help, I can a lot of things to my own car, however I have never replaced a starter, let alone on a honda accord. Please, all I need is the instructions and maybe a diagram and I can figure it out, maybe I could put together a couple of bucks to pay something. Thanks

Hello –

I hate to say but the manual doesn’t have detailed instructions or pics.

I have attached the only info I have.
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Disconnect all electrical leads at starter.
3. Loosen starter mounting bolts, then remove starter.
4. Reverse procedure to install

I am sure you will need to jack the car up……..please make sure it is properly braced.

Make sure you disconnect the battery.

As it says, remove all electrical leads from the starter.

Loosen the mounting bolts and remove.
