The speedometer on my son's car is showing between 0-15 mph as he's driving on the interstate at 70 mph, and the color of the gear selected showing on the dash has changed. What could be the problem?

Hi bvanderplough,

When the speedometer is not accurate, possible causes are :
1. Faulty Speed sensor, locate on top of trans axle just below the thermostat housing.

2. Speedometer gauge assy is faulty.

What do you mean the color of the gear position indicator has changed? Do you mean it is blinking? Does D4 or S light blinks when driving? It could be related to the speedometer.
