a week ago, the a/c in my manual accord with 175,000 miles stopped working. after a couple of hours, it began to work fine, and then stopped for good. no air at all is blowing, regardless of whether the a/c itself is turned on or off. both of the fans function when the air is turned on, but nothing makes it into the car.

i checked all of the fuses, and they are fine. the a/c was recharged and a new fan installed 2 months ago.

also, i dont know if this is relevant, but it was a rainy day when the air/ac stopped working.

any help will be much appreciated.

I am not an A/C person but I might start with seeing if the A/C compressor kicks in when you call for it. Does the clutch engage, can you feel the engine respond to the pull of the compressor?

yes, the a/c compressors kicks in. in fact, while driving fast, a very small amount of air will come into the car when set to the outside air function (vs recycling the air). the a/c switch will make that air cold.

Is it possible that this is a damper door that is not working correctly? Does the A/C just quit without you touching anything?

yes, the a/c will be running normal and then it just stops...fans and compressors still running. i am not that familiar with damper doors, so i think i just need to visit a repair shop.

any other thoughts or potential solutions would be appreciated. thank you for your help bruce.
