My gas and temperature gauge not working.
The gas gauge needle is indicating a full tank of
gas and the temp needle goes straight up to
the red zone when I turn the key on to the "ON"
position. I've done some troubleshooting and wondering if maybe i failed to reconnect something.
I ve checked the fuses and tried to retrace the wires
that i may have fooled with. Nothing seems to be
wrong. I did replace the backup light switch mounted
on the transmission successfully and I have backup
lights now. And may I add, that I pulled out the
instrument cluster to make sure there wasn't something there that was causing my dash light to
be out. In any case,I successfully restored my dash
lights . At this point ,I lack reinstalling my radio and
connecting my cigarette lighter back up. So,can
someone tell me why my gas and temp gauge seem
to be out of whack! Need help!
fiddled with.

If they are both plugged in and you have a proper signal going to the cluster, it is the cluster that has failed.

Most likely what you will find is that you need a new cluster.
