I have a 1991 Honda Accord wagon with an automatic transmission and has 206K miles. I do not know the engine size. At the same time my AC/heater completely stopped, my stereo quit, my brake light came on and stayed on, my heat ave shot all the way up and when I tried to stop my car it made a grinding/chafing noise when I put it in park. I turned the key off but the car kept running. Even when I took the key out the car was still running. I don't think the key turned all the way to the off position. It seems sticky like it didn't. What on earth is wrong and how do I figure it out and fix it?

All those problems and the final of not shutting off indicate to me that the ignition switch has gone to hell in a hand basket. Replace it.

I got the switch but now (in the light of day) I see that the key is in either the off position or position III. The instructions for the switch say you need to turn the key to position I. It will not turn at all. Any suggestions? Thanks!
