I am trying to install a Sony stereo but am having a problem. I have tested one wire with the car on that hooks up to the yellow wire but I hear there should be a wire that is constant power and it should make the tester light up when the car is turned off. I have tested all of the wires and none of them light up. I hooked up the red wire and the player will suck in and spit out the cd but nothing else works. Anyone have any ideas?

Your Sony deck yellow wire (that is constant - hot all the time) should be hooked up to white/yellow in the car which is attached to fuse #24 7.5A in the fuse box under the hood. The red wire of the deck (hot with accessory or run - with the key on) should be hooked up to yellow/red wire which is attached to fuse #11 10A fuse box under the dash.

Thanks! From your reply, I suspect that I've blown a fuse under the hood. I have checked the one under the dash but will change the one under the hood tonight. If that's what it is, you've saved me from taking it in to have it installed! Thanks again.

Sounds like the cig ltr fuse its in the fuse box inside the car by the pedals. Get a meter and check it for continuity.

Its either called Power Antenna or cig ltr. I think its a red one.
