I just changed the water pump and timing belt and i am almost done but i noticed that the crankshaft pulley is touching the timing cover. so i turned the crankshaft to see if they touch together thinking maybe it was bent. It seemed to touch evenly the whole rotation.I have not started the car yet. any possible feedback would be helpful

Hi there,

Thank you for your donation.

Check that the timing covers are sitting on the block & head correctly and all bolts are fitted and tight. These covers being flexible can distort if not flush, There are often locating dowels to align the covers make sure that they are sitting on these correctly.
