My son's car recently stalled while he was driving it. We thought it might be the alternator, but the mechanic said that it was the distributor cap. I sighed with relief because I thought it would be fairly inexpensive to fix. Instead, the mechanic charged my son: $400.93 to replace it! That sounds outrageous and I wish someone could tell me if that is normal or if we got taken.

I would really appreciate your help!

Hi there,

6 Cly ? what model is it as i only have reference to 4 cyl, a 4 Cly will only set you back around $50 supplied & fitted, if it is a 6 not a lot more, you have been ripped i feel, sure he did not replace the distributor and not just the cap?
