1990 Honda Accord windshield wiper problem

Driver side only wiper won't move when wipers are turned on. Passenger side works great. Driver side will move freely if you do it by hand. What could the problem be? Thanks

Hi there,

This sounds like the regulator that drives the wipers off the wiper motor has broken a pivot link on the one wiper arm, you may have to replace the regulator as they are often not repairable.

Actually it may be simpler than that. Check to make sure the wiper nut is on snug. Likely it has simply loosened enough to move freely while the blade sits there motionless. I believe it's a 13mm black nut with a rounded top. Good luck.
