Engine Mechanical problem
1990 Honda Accord 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I'm not sure the mileage, the engine was rebuilt around 2 years ago. The car has trouble starting, you have to pump the gas peddle and it can take up to 2 or 3 tries sometimes. It also stalls sometimes when you come to a stop at a light. The gas pump was replaced about 8 months ago as well as the battery. Could this be the alternator?

Hi MagsPie1108,

Don't think it is the alternator.

You need to check the fuel pressure to ensure it is within specs.

The stalling could be due to the idling system and cleaning the throttle body and IAC would normally solve the problem.

Further test would have to be carried out if the above does not solve the problem.
