While driving yesterday, my car stalled. The maintenance required light started flashing. I pulled over and was able to restart (after a couple of tries). It then operated normally the rest of the day. In the past month, there have been a few "hesitations" while driving, but it never stalled.

Hi mlbarton,

Was it the CHECK engine light that was flashing?

Did you try to retrieve for trouble code?

No, it wasn't the check engine light. It was the maintenance required light. I took the car to Autozone and no trouble codes were posted.

From the desription, most probably the ignition switch is failing.

When the engine stalled, did all the dash indicators lights showed?
While cranking to restart, were they showing as well?

Took it in to the shop yesterday. Was told it was the ignition switch and they replaced it ($450). Hope that solves my problem.

$450 for an ignition switch replacement is rather high.
The listed price for the switch is $71.77 and labor time is 0.9 hours.

Is the price inclusive of other repairs or parts?

They also did an oil change ($23) and diagnostic ($99). I was not thrilled with the price when they told me! I just hope this solves my problem and that other problems don't develop in the near future!!
