1990 Honda Accord Speedometer?

My speedometer stoped working and now sometimes the Check engine sign comes on and once when I started it it did not want to stay on unless I accelerated a little for it to go. What Do you think is going on?

Check under hood for any vacuum leaks
check and clean idle air
is it due for tune up?
As for the speedometer
check for a defective speed sensor or open circuit in Orange wire
