I was driving down the road and my car just killed. Now it doesn't want to start. We have checked everything with the fuel system. I had someone come look at it and they said I wasn't getting any fire. So I need a distributor. On the distributor I have now there is a place for a coil wire but there is no coil wire. My car is fuel injected. Should there be a coil wire attached to the distributor or not. And if so could that be the reason I can't get it to start.

Some have internal coils and some are external. You need to replace it with the same one it had before. If it is external, yes the coil wire needs to be plugged into the distributor
