my 1987 honda accord lxi needs water pump replaced as it is leaking. this started friday and i was just trying to get thru weekend till i can get it to a shop but now car wont even start. no lights, wont even try to turn over - 4 month old batt - takes jump instantly but doesnt hold charge as it will not start next time - car has not overheated during this period from the water pump issue - are the dead battery and bad water pump related?

are the dead battery and bad water pump related? No way amigo battery acid and antifreeze don't come close to each other-

Why don't we check the alternator output to see whether its reconditioning the battery if so lets get a high rate discharge on the battery to see if it maintains 9.6 volts in 10sec if not replace the battery-

Lets get the water pump fix then do above.Need more help come on back
