car will start and run for 30 seconds or so then die and will not restart unless gas poured in carb if kept running for 20 seconds or so will then run on own fine until shut off then will generally start on own un less off for a few hours or over night have tried diff rent fuel with same results

Hi there, replace the fuel filter, check the fuel pump pressure and the float hight at the carb. there should be a small sight glass on the side and you should see the fuel at least 1/2 way up. Also check fuel tank is venting remove filler cap and run if problem goes, have vent system checked.
