Engine Mechanical problem
1995 Other Holden Models V8 Automatic

Hi,

I was just wondering if you could advise me as to why the oil would not be getting to the top of the motor when the car gets to running temperature please?

I had to change the lifters and in doing so, I have cleaned all the pushrods etc and put the motor back together.

When I start the car for the first time it runs great. After it warms up it starts to rattle and there is no oil getting to the top of the engine.

Please help.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi there,

Check the engine oil pressure first, report back your findings.

Hi Mark,

I have checked all that and am still stumped as to why the oil is not getting to the top of the motor.

My next step is to take out the intake and check it again. If you have any other suggestions, please let me know.

Regards

I live in Ipswich QLD mate. My father and I are going to look at it on the weekend and hopefully we can get it running.

I have had the car running for a good 10 minutes as well as taking it for a drive. It runs well stationary until it warms up (covers have been taken off and oil is getting to where it needs to be while car running) then when it gets to running temp after a short drive, it starts to rattle and no oil.

All the lifters and such have been primed and it is still not going right. What product would you suggest?

I just got back from Adelaide 03/12 so I have done nothing since the other day.

Will keep you posted.
