1992 Other Holden Models LOOSING OIL PRESSURE

1992 Other Holden Models V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 250000 miles
this seems to be a intermitant problem have replaced sender unit put high volumn oil pump on and drove 1200 kms no prob then one morning had no pressure left it next day fine have used 3 different oils replacd filter also put a guage on and will be fine and just stops hot or cold

Hi there,
High volume pumps are a bit of a trap on Holden V8's they tend to flood the rocker cover and you start to get a bit of oil consumption if you have suspect valve stem seal and guides, anyway, no oil pressure will be a faulty pressure relief valve or air sucking in the pick up via a cracked pick up (known to happen) or loose bolts on the pick up. these pumps don't loose prime once they have had oil in them, so the pump it self should be ok....
