Ok, first off I have been searching, looking, researching, asking, begging, etc.
my wifes car is a
2001 honda accord a/t lx and 4cyl engine.
ok well first off it has a very major oil leak, very major. Ok well I have done a lot of inspection on it and here is what I got.
if the car is sitting, cold and not ran, and I pour qt of oil in engine, oil drips slowly after about 30 min or so
.
however.
as the car is warmed up, or driven, the oil leak gets much worse, the hotter it gets.
what starts off as a small tiny leak, turns into a gusher within 10 min. Or a trip to the corner store.
so. What that tells me is that the car leaks oil much worse when its hot and under pressure, like when its running.
on another vehicle, I had this happen before, it was on a toyota camry. The problem on the camry was exactly the same as it is on the honda. The solution to fixing the camry was replacing the oil pump gasket.
on the camry you have to do all the same steps as you do on the honda to get to the oil pump gasket.
here is the prob. I have been looking for days now on how to replace the oil pump gasket on the 2001 honda accord, but no one seems to have that information. I am beginning to wonder if the 2001 honda accord even has an oil pump gasket.
well if the 2001 does in fact have an oil pump gasket, then how in the hell do I get to it in order to replace it?
please will someone out there help me?
