My truck keeps shutting off after 10 or 15 minutes after driving and I wait a little bit, 10 to 15 minutes and it starts. I've replaced the fuel filter and new distributor all new cap rotor and module. A the fuel pump and that didn't seem to be the problem so I put the old fuel pump back on.

Hi,

When this happens, we need to determine if the ignition spark to the plugs is lost, if fuel is lost, or if both are lost.

When it won't restart, see if it starts with starting fluid. If it does and then stalls, that tells me it is fuel related. If there is no change, I need you to check for spark.

Here is a link that explains how that is done:

Try this and let me know the results. Also, pay attention to see if you hear the fuel pump prime when you first turn the key to the on position.

It has been a while since I worked on one of these, but I do remember issues related to the EEC relay failing. If you haven't checked it, switch it with a different relay in the relay box having the same part number. See if the same thing happens.

One other thought. Here is a link that explains how to retrieve codes from this system. See if you are able to get any codes that may point us in the right direction. You don't need a scanner to retrieve codes from this system.

Let me know.
