Marker and tail lights okay. From research I'm thinking it's the multifunction turn switch; I'd rather bypass the dimmer switch, but the i/p harness to steering column harness connector has different wire colors for the pins from the diagram I found. Do you have the correct one and/or any ideas?

Hi,

It does sound like the switch is bad. Regardless, can you provide the correct model year? The Regal was discontinued in 2004.

Let me know and I'll get you schematics for the headlamp circuit.

Take care,

Joe

Thanks Joe, it's a 1999 Regal (yeah she's an oldie). I believe it's the E block connector. I am an electronic tech professional (amateur mechanic).
Photo is underside of connector.

Hi,

The connector in the pic, what is that plugged into?

As far as the wiring schematic for the headlamps, I attached them below. It doesn't have a pinout for the connector you are showing me. Let me know where that is located.

The wiring schematic was a page long. I had to cut it in half to make it readable for you. I did overlap them so you can follow from one to the next.

Let me know if this helps.

Take care,

Joe

Joe,

The schematic you sent should help; the connector plug I referred to is the instrument panel harness to steering column harness which is to the right of the steering column, next to the diagnostic test plug. Since I believe the problem is with the hi/lo beam switch in the multifunction turn signal, I was planning to bypass it there. If you can't find the schematic, that's okay, I can figure it out with what you've supplied. I've attached the diagram I found, which is the correct plug, but wire colors are different.
Thanks again!

Henry,

I have the pinout for the instrument cluster. I attached it below. I cut the legend in half so you can read them easier.

I was unable to read what you attached because they are blurry, so I couldn't compare what I have to it. Regardless, take a look through it and let me know if they help.

Take care,

Joe
