Whenever I try to install LED lights the fuse and relay blow. So I’m trying to see if upgrading the fuse and relay will make a difference.

Welcome to 2CarPros.

You can't change fuse voltage because the wiring can not take more than the present fuse will allow. If more power is applied, it could cause the wiring insulation to melt and short.

One other thought. On this vehicle, the power distribution center (PDC) unit cannot be repaired and is only serviced as a unit with the headlamp and dash wire harness. If the internal circuits or the PDC housing are faulty or damaged, the headlamp and dash wire harness unit must be replaced. That is why I am concerned about changing anything related to it.

The LED's you got, did they come with specific directions?

Let me know,

Joe

The LED’s I got were the simple plug in that I bought from AutoZone which came with no instructions. I also understand what your saying and am glad I didn’t do anything like that yet. I also want to note I am 17 years old and may not be the brightest when it comes to mechanical work but I do understand what your saying and appreciate the help.

Thank you Joe for the help.

Well, I just realized that I was being a complete goof ball because those aren’t LED lights and might be drawing more than the stock lights.

Welcome back, Justin.

Listen, the only way I learned was by asking questions and then trying to do it. So, my hat is off to you. There aren't many young men your age that would even try.

As far as the lights, I would honestly stick with what the truck calls for. Being in the industry for 35 years has proven a couple things to me. First, my first shop teacher was correct. Never think I can do better than the engineers did who designed it. It was designed to work one way. And second, never fix it if it isn't broken. LOL

Listen, you are welcome back anytime. Let me know how the head light issue works out for you, and never be afraid to ask for help or ever be afraid to try.

You take care and let me know if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe

Thank you so much Joe for the help I truly appreciate it. My light situation is now fixed because I went back to the original bulbs and no fuses were blown.
