I have a crank no start. If I pull the PCM fuse while key is in on position and put back in the car will start once. It will also be in limp mode if I try to drive. If I use my cheap 0bd2 it gives p1004 code runner valve replaced as well as cam and crank sensors, EGR valve, and PCM coded to VIN. If I have car started run the code tester turn the car off, put key in on position erase codes immediately after turning off it will start one more time and will keep starting if repeated.

Hi,

When it doesn't start, check fuse 8 in the under-hood fuse box. See if there is power to it.

Next, with the key in the start position (you'll need a helper) see if there is power to pin 85 on the starter relay.

At this point, I suspect the issue is in the totally integrated power module (TIPM). They are known to have problems with connectors. In this one, the relay primary is actuated by an integral electronic starter coil driver. This is a theory, but I have a feeling that is causing the problem.

Let me know what you find.

Take care,

Joe

Hi,

Do me a favor. See if it starts if you use starting fluid. If it does and then stalls, we know its fuel related. If there is no change, then we need to look at the ignition.

Here is a link that explains how to check for spark to the plugs:

Let me know.

Joe
