I want to put dual exahust on my 2005 Yukon Denali, but I can only do so by removing my spare tire. The guy at the exhaust shop told me it is possible to get the same sound just by replacing the stock muffler with a louder model. Is this possible?

What brands did you look at.
If the "guy" works at an exhaust shop he should be able to build you a custom exhaust.

The brand would be flowmaster either 3 chamber or 2 chamber. He said he could not safely build a custom system it was entirely too tight. And I would agree with this also after looking at it on the lift

Sound and performance are 2 different things.
Some mufflers do have better sound and some do help your perfomance, but if your looking for an exhaust system try godfathercustoms. Com

If he changes out your mufflers it will be quite a bit louder but for real performance u should get a hi-per exhaust.
