2004 GMC Yukon Truck won't start

Electrical problem
2004 GMC Yukon V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I have taken the battery to be checked and Autozone said that it was good. The cabels are clean and tight but when I turn the switch the engine makes a tick tick tick sound and everything goes out. Money is tight and I have to be at work in the morning please help. Thank You

Makes three clicks then goes dead no dash lights ?
If you release key to run position do you have power ? Are the clicks comming from engine compartment?

It comes from the engine compartment. It reminds me of the sound that a selinoid switch makes when it goes bad.

O.K. if your getting solenoid click and no motor engagement the starter is the fault.

Is that re4asonably priced/hard to replace?

Should be able to get a rebuilt for @$75. Not to hard jack up right side disconnect battery, Remove cover on trans then wiring and two bolts . And replace
