The rear window will not open, when you push the round button on the hatch. Also, the rear hatch does not lock when you press the lock switch

Hi johndwyer,

Thank you for the donation and we would like to apologise for the delay in replying.

Here are the procedures for testing and rectification of the inoperative rear window. Thee are 2 different styles know as old or new style. What I have here is the new style and if it is not correct, let me know.

REAR WINDOW INOPERATIVE
1. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using a test light connected to ground, backprobe rear window switch connector terminal "A" (Dark Green wire). See Fig. 2 . If test light illuminates, go to step 3 . If test light does not illuminate, go to next step.

2. Repair open in Dark Green wire between rear window switch connector terminal "A" and Left Bussed Electrical Center (LBEC) connector C1 terminal A9. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Repair as necessary and retest system.

3. Disconnect rear window motor connector. Connect a test light between rear window motor connector terminals "A" (Dark Blue wire) and "B" (Brown wire). Observe test light while operating rear window switch to UP and DOWN positions. If test light illuminates in both positions, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate in both positions, go to step 5 .

4. Using a test light connected to battery voltage, backprobe rear window switch connector terminal "C" (Black wire). If test light illuminates, go to step 6 . If test light does not illuminate, repair open in Black wire between ground and rear window switch connector terminal "C". See WIRING DIAGRAMS .

5. Check for open in Dark Blue wire between rear window switch connector terminal "A" and rear window motor connector terminal "A". Check for open in Brown wire between rear window switch connector terminal "B" and rear window motor connector terminal "B". See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Repair as necessary and retest system.

6. Replace rear window motor.

Since motor and latch lock is inoperative, it could be due to broken wires between the door and frame. Check those first.

2 different problems

Are all the door locks working properly other than the hatch?

The rear door lock open it up and check at the switch on the orange wire if it has power if so the switch itself is defective also check the MR/lock fuse 3amp

As for the rear hatch window Mit1 auto reference has no electrical diagram on it and I'm unable to pin point the problem w/o the circuitry-sorry

It sounds like the lock mechanism is bad. You need to remove the door panel to access the assembly.
