The vehicle died as if it was out of gas, by the time I came to a complete stop and put it in park, the car was off. Battery works just fine, fully charged, headlights and interior light work. When I turn the key all I hear is a click.

Clicking? or nothing at all? If you hear a click, then either the battery is weak, or the starter, possibly bad battery cable connections, check and clean both ends of BOTH cables! Dissconnect negative(-) first, and put it on last! If no click the starter relay is no good! In your case were it died while running, you need to test the charging circuit as well.

ok, so lets say its the starter or something to do with the starter, then why did the car die? when it shut off the lights were still on... so not a battery issue... I will test the starter as soon as possible.. thanks for your input..

Because if it had an electrical spike, or surge it may have adversly affected the PCM when it happened...
