This truck has a rebuilt motor that has about 30k on it. Last year around this time it started running like water was on distrib. In the summer I could drive to some place about 30min away. Then after the heat of the day about 10 min from home it would quit like it was flooded.I could get it to start but the engine would rev up and then die. After a period of maybe 30min of sitting I could get it to start and back to the house. No codes where ever thrown except cam sensor to crank sensor correlation fault. Out of time. Pretty sure I have that fixed, because the truck ran fine through the winter and in extreme cold. Two weeks ago I ran out some where and it just died. Had to tow it home. Now it will not start at all. Cranks good at times but then will drag like it is out of time. I checked coil it is good. I replaced ignition mod. Because parts store said it checked bad. I have a new crank shaft sensor in it as well and I think that the camshaft sensor is not that old either. Any help would be great because I am now thinking it has jumped time some how. The chain and gears are new with the 30k mikes on them as well.

I hate to say it, but I think the timing chain jumped. If you have fuel and spark, it should run.

I finally found out that the distributor gear had been ground down and that would let it jump out. What a pain to find. Now I can't wait for the next problem:) this GM gives me. I can't wait to go back to Ford.
