My 2002 GMC Sonoma won't start. I was told it was probably the starter. I pulled the old starter out and decided to test the new one before installing, in case it is not the starter and I can return the new one. I hooked the 2 wires up to the new one and that is not working either(it's not mounted, just hanging). I checked the voltage to the starter and it seems fine. I have no idea what this can be. Please help. This happened the day after I gave someone a jump start, if that matters.

Thanks,
Jeff

Is your new starter grounded? Needs three circuits, the high-current 12 volt feed, the high-current ground return, and you can touch the small solenoid terminal to the 12 volt feed to activate the starter. Hang onto it so it doesn't end up in the neighbor's yard!
