When I turn the key in ignition all of the lights come on and the fans turn on but I get nothing else. No sound of an engine turning to give me any hope. Any ideas specifically?

Welcome to the forum, use a testlite and check for voltage at the starter relay terminals, underhood fuse box. Terminal 85 goes hot with key in start position. Terminal 30 is hot all the time. Sometimes the wiring diagrams swap 85 and 86, check them both. Any testing at the relay, make sure the tranny is in park or neutral and a functional e-brake is set.

If you have the original battery it's probably about done. Have it load tested at a auto parts store.
Chances are it's just a weak battery. Any other brand of car I would suggest cleaning the battery terminals but GM has the best battery terminals of a lot of companies. They never get corroded etc. And pretty much never need maintenance.
