My air conditioning no longer blows cold, after about an hour or so it will "cool off" but it is no where near as cold as it was. I know in some older cars freon was used and may have to be re-charged after so many years of use. Also I can hear the compressor turning on and it still blows air fine, just not cold air. What do you think?

Thank you for the help,

Jason Fachorn.

First step is attach a good manifold gauge set and tack the readings of high and low sides, 35-40 on low and 150-200 is what you want to see, yours is most likly low.A/c systems do loose gas through the service ports and do need to be recharged every few years on some. Or you may have a leak. If your compressor cycles on and off frequently, you are low on R-134a.
