1998 GMC Sonoma timing chain

my sonoma doesn't start and we believe that the problem is that the timing chain has slipped. There is no distributer (not for this year) and the computer port doesn't work (not since I've owned it). So how do I determine if the timing is off without taking the entire engine apart. Note. I've got spark, fuel and compression. So this is what I've narrowed it down to.
