I have a 95 GMC sonoma with the 4.3 TBI. The other day after getting off work my engine refused to turn over. All the accessory's worked fine and I didn't think it was a battery issue but almost immediately after hooking up a pair of jumper cables it started right up.

Today I replaced the battery and both terminal ends. That seemed to fix the problem and my truck started up right away several times. Unfortunately after driving it less than a mile to the auto parts store and letting it sit for less than five minutes, it again wouldn't start. I jumped it again and than asked them to test my alternator. My alternator worked fine at idle and under load, and my starter checked out as well.

I'm at a complete loss as to what it could be and my car has refused to start right away a couple of times tonight. I'm open to any suggestions

it again wouldn't start. next time it refuses to start do below immediately

Disconnect a sparkplug wire or 2 and ground it to the engine -have helper crank engine over-do you have a snapping blue spark? If so-you have a fuel related problem, check the fuel pressure to rule out the fuel filter/fuel pump/pressure regulator and listen to the injector/s are they pulsing or hook up a noid light. No snapping blue spark continue to troubleshoot the ignition system-power input to the coil/coil packs, distributor pick-up coil, ignition control module, ECM,Ignitor cam and crank sensors- Note: If it doesn't apply disregard it
