1991 GMC Sonoma alternator

I checked voltage with a volt meter on old alternator and was ngetting around 11.5 volts with truck running. It would stop running after it run a while.I replaced it with an exact rebuilt alternator but is still doing the same thing was wondering what I did wrong? This model doesnt have a voltage regulator does it I coulnt find anthing that looked like one on the firewall. Thanks

Thanks for the donation.

Your voltage regulator is built into the alternator itself, so if you have already replaced the alternator then you replaced teh regulator as well. I believe the problem lies somewhere else. Check all earth connections and have the battery heavy discharge tested (Drop tested). Let me know the results and I will follow up.
