GMC SIERRA 1500 4X4 2002 130K 5.3 V8-RUNS GREAT UNTIL COLD WEATHER-@ COLD START DURING COLD WEATHER ENGINE IDLES HIGH AND SUDDENLY LOW AND ROUGH TO THE POINT IT MAY STALL-REPLACED AIR FLOW SENSOR @ EXIT OF INTAKE FILTER HOUSING-NO CHANGES-ANY EXPERIENCE WITH THIS?

You may need a new coolant temp sensor/sending unit, they help the engine adjust a richer mixture to get the engine to warm up better.

Did you ever get your problem fixed? Our 02 Yukon is experiencing the same problem. Our mechanic wants to replace the intake which is made of plastic. Warm weather idles great. Cold weather idles very rough.

Hello jeff! I belive the coolant temperature sensor worked or he would have posted back, have your mechanic change that first.
