CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WHILE DRIVING TODAY. PLUGED IN MY OB SCANNER TO CHECK THE CODES BUT NOTHING HAPPENED. NOTHING APPEARED ON THE SCREEN. PLUGED THE OB SCANNER IN MY OTHER VEHICAL AND IT WORKED JUST FINE. WHAT COULD THIS BE. IS THERE A FUSE THAT CONTROLS THE PLUG OR?

Does your cigar ligher work? If so then data link connector (DLC) fuse is fine as they share same circuit. If it doesn't work, check fuse labeled CIG LTR (15 amp) in the underhood fuse block (left side of engine compartment, rear of battery).
