Engine Mechanical problem
1999 GMC Sierra 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic
I recently replaced the battery in my 99 sierra. It had a tough time holding an idle and had to be coaxed for a bit almost as if the engine was cold...I live in AZ desert. I drove it a few times and the gauges would pegged at the max but it seemed to run just fine. I went out to start it the other day and it was completely dead. I wiggled the battery cable and everything powered up and it ran for a few days. It now is completely dead though. I jumped it the other day and it fired right up but same problem, it won't hold an idle and once I shut it off it went back to being completely dead again and i can't jump it at all now. I have the truck pretty much stock with the exception of a Flowmaster exhaust. No alarms or extra stereo amps. It has 130k on it. Recently replaced the fuel filter. The fuel pump was replaced at approximately 100k. Had a new transmission at 85k. No other major problems have ever surfaced.
