hi i have a 89 gmc 3500 4x4 dump /plow ,, i took it to the do it ur self car wash i was waiting in line i turned it off and statred it moved up turned it off and went to start it and nothing .. i used either to see if it would fire but nothing i chanced the coil and still nothing what would or should i look at under the hood

it will run when starter fluid is sprayed i checked coil its good and fuel pump is pumping any ideas what else i can try
it is getting spark so what coul it be

If it runs with starting fluid, you are not getting fuel to the engine. Have you checked the injectors to make sure they are getting power? Have you checked fuel pump pressure?

i dont no how to ck the pump psi i dont have the tools if you need them ,i dont know how to ck if the throtle bodie is the trouble also the ck engine light will not com on when i turn the key on only the break light comes one when im turning over the motor my parking lights and tail lights dont work but the headlights do what is that about

It's easy to do. As far as tools, the only thing you need is a fuel presure gauge. Most parts stores will lend or rent them to you. Here is a how to for checking. It has directions and a video to guide you. Like I said, if it runs on starting fluid, chances are you have a plugged fuel filter or a bad fuel pump.
