I have a 2002 GMC Savana SLT. I recently changed the fuel pump. Approx. 3 weeks later, I started getting occasional sputtering while driving. One time it actually stalled and hasn't ran since. I can get it to start with starting fluid but it usually stalls once that is burned out. Sometimes it will stay idling but once I touch the pedal, it dies.
I took it into a local shop for a diagnosis and they said it was the fuel pressure regulator and the ignition coil. I replaced the regulator and still have the same condition. I didn't think it was the coil since it would run with the starting fluid.
The fuel pressure is steady at about 45-50 psi just like it was when I replaced the pump. I know that this is lower than the spec but I've never seen it any higher.
Any ideas on what else to check???
