92 4.3 vortec air intake

My car will only start with starting fluid. Once running, it will run on idle. If you give it gas, the car will start to stall out, miss, and backfire. If you slowly push on the gas pedal, it will come to a high rpm. I have put in a new fuel pump, fuel filter, and fuel regulator on it. Please let me know your ideas. Thank you.

Yes and I checked the code. It was a 44, oxygen sensor. I checked my fuel pressure and it is only 40 psi. Could something be wrong with part of the fuel pressure regulator, I believe the connection (spider) might have been damaged.

its possible the spider or metering body is damaged , 40 psi is low , i wonder if the new pump took a crap or is faulty , the regulator is after the fuel pump test port , if the regulator is faulty you will have bleed down if you leave the gage on for 10-15 minutes , severe bleed down , let me know

fuel pressure with key on engine off should be 54-64 with engine running and opening throttle is should nose up to 60-64 psi , if your initial pressure doenst hold at atleast 54 you can check the cpi unit by momentarily piching off fuel return line , if the pressure holds after the pich , replace the cpi unit or (spider)
