2002 GMC Safari Front Brake Pad and Rotor replacement

Brakes problem
2002 GMC Safari 6 cyl All Wheel Drive Automatic 150000 miles

On 2002 GMC Safari Van - is the front disk brake caliper actually a piece of the entire wheel assembly and not independently removable? In other words, does it need to be replaced by a professional shop vs. me at home?

The front disc brake caliper on your Safari can be replaced as a separate unit, would you like replacement steps?

I really just want to replace the pads and rotor, but can't remove the whole wheel assembly if that's what's needed. Can I replace pads and rotor without removing entire assembly on 2002 safari?
