1998 GMC Safari shifts hard from 1st to 2nd

After warm occasionally shifts hard from 1st to 2nd gear. Serviced regular, fluid and filter replaced last fall when same problem occurred. Gm garage couldnt duplicate problem or find cause.

My 1995 was doing the same thing around the 150000 mile mark. I also had regurally changed the Fluid every 50000 miles. It is the busings on those gears that are worn. You will need to take it to a transmission shop and have them rebuild it. This is about $1200 worth of work but so long as you do this before the gear actually slips out and you have what is called "hard tooling dammage" then it will not cost you a new transmission which I'm sure is about $4000+
