2001 GMC Jimmy when pumpin gas it spits out the nozel

I was wondering if there is a cause for everytime i try to pump gas in my jimmy i can only pump a few cents at a time and the fuel starts spitting out the nozel.my fiancee has checked to see if someone stuffed something in there but he hasnt found anything.any help u can offer would be greatly appreicated.

Hello,

If you crawl under the vehicle were your fill is and look up you should see 2 hoses a large and a small one. check to make sure both are round and not compressed, except if there is metal tubing, if both look ok then you may need to remove the hoses to check them out, the smaller one is a vent hose, it comes from the tank and goes into the fill hose just behind were the hole you stick the gas nozzle in. Usually the vent hose is the problem. If it is not venting the air in the tank then it will vent through the fill tube causing the spitting back. However, if you have had the fuel pump replaced then it could be that the hose has been compresses or possibly twisted some and/or the metal tubing may have been bent more while being reinstalled.
