Electrical problem
2001 GMC Jimmy 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Manual

OK, so I though I had a bulb out, but I pulled the light apart and all the lights were working.

I have a right turn signal, but no left. When I hook up one of my trailers the left turn signal works on the trailer but still not the truck?

Any ideas what it might be? Is there a relay for just the left side? What else could cause this

Any ideas would help

Thanks

Check the left turn signal fuse 10 amp in the underhood fuse box top of left front fender. The trailer and truck turn signals circuits are wired differently

I have checked all the fuses, they are in good shape. Are there separate relays for each side?

The yellow wire between the left bulb socket to the fuse is open there's no relay involved. The key here is your left turn signal on the trailer works-It tells you somethng that the turn signal flasher is work-Double check the LT fuse 10amp

The fuse is good, what else could it be?

I will check that yellow wire and try to chase it down.

Waaaay too late, but it might be good for someonelese.
Had some problem (right turn stays on solid, no flasher going on, brake light allways on). Checked the fuzes, the bulbs and the relay - nothing wrong with them.
Other simptoms:
- half lift of the signal lever made the right turn signal go on, but twice faster
- engine turned off, ignition key out - press brake pedal and lights the board and radio goes on
- even weird-er: stop the car, turn the key off and pull out, the engine still goes on untill I release the brake pedal
- one more: engine of, key in 1/4 and gear selector in R position - noticed a light smoke comming out from the hazard switch
That last one made me take a look at the turn switch block, which indeed, showed some purple/blue color on couple of the bronze contacts.
Replaced the turn/hazard switch block ($250 - $320) and all back to normal.
