My vehicle first had issues with not starting unless i primed the intake plenum with fuel. It would run fine after that and start fine while it was warm. If it sat for more than an hour or two it would not start without being primed. Before I could change the fuel filter or pump, combined with the starting issue, it began losing power and would not rev past 2000 rpm and produced a loud squealing noise (not a belt). I ran some codes and got, fuel too lean, and a random misfire code. I have changed the fuel filter and fuel pump. I am getting around 60 psi when i test the fuel pressure, good. Now i get the random misfire code but the plugs all appear to be fine. Is my only option to remove the CSEFI unit and start to replace the fuel meter body. What else could be causing the random misfire.

Hi, the fuel poppets may need cleaning, if it is a fuel issue. With the spider fuel system, I have seen service bulletins that talk about the cleaning procedure, it is a shop procedure. I don't know if injector cleaner in the gas tank will help anything?? The problem could be something besides fuel, I can't tell from here. If the system is running lean, fuel is my first thought.

After I changed the fuel pump and filter the fuel too lean code went away, I'm pretty sure a bad filter was the cause of that and admittedly I let it go for too long. I just have the random misfire code. The poppets was my next guess, or the fuel pressure regulator, but I would assume I would get an Injector Pressure code for that. I'm not sure if there is even a code for a faulty fuel pressure regulator. I was hoping there was something I might be missing before I start removing the spider system.
